R.D. Cogswell, board member
R.D. holds a B.S. in Christian Education from Manhattan Christian College and a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Kansas State University. R.D. has served in ministry for 13 years -10 years as an associate pastor in youth ministries in Arizona, Colorado and Indiana, and is in his third year as lead pastor at Northland Christian Church in Topeka, Kan.
Lana Davis, treasurer/board member
Lana has a degree in Fashion Merchandising and recently retired from SaraLee Branded Apparel. She’s had many positions in her 22-year career at SaraLee. Her last assignment was vice president of sales for the hosiery division.
Mark Eaton, chairman of the board
Mark holds a B.A. in Communication, Political Science and Public Administration from William Jewell College and is now working on a Masters in Leadership Studies. Mark has worked for more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry in positions with sales, advertising, product management and marketing.He currently is charged with the business planning development, product positioning and messaging for the multiple sclerosis drug of Teva Neuroscience. Mark’s responsibilities with The Heartland Project include marketing direction and business plan development.
Chris Herre, board member
Chris serves as the president of Rose Companies and has been with the company for 21 years. He has served in the design and construction industry for more than 26 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Architecture and Environmental Design from the University of Kansas and currently is a registered architect in four states. Chris is in charge of company marketing efforts, initial client relations, project implementation for all design/build construction contracts and oversees the development arm of Rose Companies.
Jim Johnson, board member
Jim holds a BTh in New Testament from Ozark Christian College and an MDiv from Lincoln Christian Seminary. Jim has served for 15 years in ministry. He served as Professor of Preaching and New Testament and Assistant Academic Dean at Ozark Christian College for six years. For the last three years, he’s served as lead minister of Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater, Okla.
Justin Moxley, president/executive director/board member
Justin holds a B.S. in Christian Education from Manhattan Christian College and has served in ministry for more than 15 years, including 10 years as an associate pastor at LifeBridge Christian Church in Longmont, Colo. and four years as lead pastor at Cedar Ridge Christian Church in Olathe, Kan. Justin’s responsibilities with The Heartland Project include the creation and implementation of its vision, partnership development, coordinator of fund raising, public and church relations and church planter recruitment and care.
Scott Shacklett, board member
Scott holds a B.S. in Human Factors Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and an M.S. in Human Factors Engineering from Wright State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force for more than five years and currently is employed by Team Drive Away as its COO. Scott is married to his beautiful wife, Kristy, and has four children: Mackenzie, Abigail, Olivia and Ethan.
Tray Wiltse, secretary/board member
Tray graduated from Rockhurst College with a B.A. in Economics. He has worked in the financial services industry for the last 10 years. Upon graduating, he became a financial advisor for a major insurance company, focusing on working with small businesses and affluent families. His areas of expertise are estate planning, business succession and retirement planning. Tray is a registered representative and offers securities through Royal Alliance Associates, Inc.
